Structural basis of human separase regulation by securin and CDK1-cyclin B1
Cover illustration created for Prof. Andreas Boland from the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Geneva (2021)
This study reveals how securin and CDK1-cyclin B1 bind and inhibit separase through pseudosubstrate autoinhibitory motifs. The ourobouros, an ancient symbol depicting a dragon eating its own tail, illustrates this concept of auto-inhibition.
